In 2018 Club Helensvale is proud to support the Children’s Hospital Foundation as a community partner for the Channel Nine Telethon. The Foundation is the official charity of the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital and all kids in Hospitals across Queensland. Over the past four years, the Channel Nine Telethon has raised over $46 million through the generosity of the Queensland community.
The money raised helps the Children’s Hospital Foundation support kids by funding life-saving medical research, vital new medical equipment and providing patient and family support programs.
Each year the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital provides services to over 230,000 kids. 42% of these children come from regional and rural Queensland.
We are committing to the Channel Nine Telethon as a community partner to make a profound impact on the lives of sick kids – just like Maddison.
Maddison’s cheeky grin lights up the room no matter where she is; even if that room is a hospital ward, where she has spent too much of her young life battling cancer. Supporting the Children’s Hospital Foundation helps bring a little wonder to children like Maddison in hospital, while also funding life-saving medical research and critical equipment.
The Telethon will be screened live on Saturday 17 November and is always an entertaining program with celebrities, sporting stars and some inspiring kids and their families. Club Helensvale has committed to donate $10,000 and we hope you can get involved too! There are a lot of kids and families going through really tough times, and they’re so heartened to know that the community is right behind them. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will lessen the hurt and help sick kids heal and get home sooner.
We will be fundraising at Club Helensvale throughout October with some events and activities, and looking to increase our contribution to the work of the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
